Fluorspar - Grain Grade

Description

Fluorspar (Calcium Fluoride, CaF₂) – Grain Grade refers to medium to coarse granules of fluorite ore that have been processed for industrial use. This grade is characterized by high purity, uniform granule size, and low impurity levels, making it suitable for various industrial applications. The material appears in shades of purple, green, and white, depending on its source and mineral composition.

Applications

Fluorspar – Grain Grade is widely used in multiple industries due to its ability to lower melting points, enhance chemical reactions, and act as a fluxing agent.

Advantages of Grain Grade Fluorspar

✔️ High chemical purity (low sulfur and phosphorus content).
✔️ Consistent granule size for optimized performance.
✔️ Versatile applications across multiple industries.
✔️ Eco-friendly processing with reduced emissions in steel and cement production.

Metallurgy & Steel Production

  • Used as a flux in steelmaking to remove impurities and improve fluidity in slag formation.
  • Enhances aluminum and magnesium production processes.
  • Improves the quality of molten metal in foundries.

Cement & Glass Manufacturing

  • Acts as a flux in cement production, reducing energy consumption.
  • Used in glass and ceramic industries to improve the durability and optical properties of glass products.

Chemical & Fluorine Industry

  • Serves as a primary raw material for hydrofluoric acid (HF) production, which is used in Teflon, refrigerants, and lithium-ion battery production.
  • Key component in the production of fluoropolymers and pharmaceuticals.

Welding & Soldering Applications

  • Integral in welding electrodes and fluxes, ensuring smooth and strong welds.
  • Used in soldering fluxes to prevent oxidation during metal joining.

Environmental & Industrial Uses

  • Applied in water fluoridation for safe drinking water treatment.
  • Used in specialty chemical processes, including fluorocarbon and fluorosilicate production.
